Girl Weekend

With Scott & Graison away in McCall freezing...Baylee & I had a girls weekend. We went and rented chick flicks, ate popcorn and downed sodas! Then Baylee crawled into bed with me and we actually slept in a little this morning.

Thanks to Meme & Papa and Grandma B, Baylee had money burning a hole in her pocket. So, she has been wanting to go to this pottery place. You pick the pottery you want to paint, then they glaze and fire it for you. So, we took the opportunity to go without the boys. Baylee picked a cute bowl with a plate, and used blue, brown and pink to decorate it.

After Baylee finished her painting, we went to eat lunch at Olive Garden. Thanks to a few of my dancers last year, I had a gift card. Baylee and I had a yummy lunch and enjoyed our afternoon. It was great spending time with her other than running to dance class or other activities. We go and pick up Baylee's bowl next Saturday....so stay tuned for pictures of the finished product!!!

Sikeston

I just wanted to write and say how grateful I am to be in Boise. On Tuesday, I was talking to a friend back in Sikeston, and she was telling me about how bad the weather was there. Many inches of ice and then feet of snow on top of that! The whole town is without power!! And has been since sometime Tuesday. As I called around to check on our family, I learned that they were pretty much all camped out at my mother-in-laws house (which is totally where I would be too) because she had a fireplace. They were "cooking" on a turkey fryer that they took the basket off of and used a cast iron skillet.

I watch the KFVS12 news daily, to try and see how things are going. Businesses like Walmart and Lowes opened for certain hours during the day, and I was told that there were cops all around just to make sure no lewders or panic was happening. Supposedly we heard that there was a possibility that because the water filter system for the city can't run because no power...they might have to turn off the water too!!! Oh my goodness!!!

All the big beautiful Dogwood trees and Bradford Pear trees that can be found all over Sikeston are all gone. The ice was so heavy that it just cut the trees in half almost. It is so sad, and depressing. Its like a war zone, or a ghost town. No one can do anything but clean up their yards.

I feel so helpless and sad that I am not able to help in some way. I can't imagine not having heat..when it is colder there in Missouri than it is here in Idaho! I miss them all terrible and wish I could just bring them all out here to stay with us.

They are all in my prayers, and I ask that anyone who reads my blog, would also keep Sikeston in your prayers.

NO SCHOOL!!!!!

Graison & Baylee were out of school today so we tried to think of something fun, yet inexpensive, to go and do. So we packed a lunch, a cooler full of waters, and headed out for the Boise Zoo. YES, I know it was only a high of 30 degrees today, which might explain why we were the only people in the zoo!! I love going to the zoo, and we were excited to have a zoo 10 minutes away, rather than 2 hours with either St. Louis or Memphis. Well, we were a little disappointed today. After going to the beautiful St. Louis zoo, where it is free to get in, and huge and awesome....then coming to Boise, where it costs to get in the gate, and then they only have certain animals. We had a blast playing with the spider monkeys, and if you know Baylee she "bonded" with the penguins! We had a great time, just being outside and spending time together. So, here are a few pictures!!!

My sweatshirt is shadowing the spider monkey..but this adorable monkey came over to me and put his hand up next to mine!!! So awesome!!!

We couldn't get Baylee out of the Penguin exhibit!!! I think she would have been happy to stay there all day.

Christmas...

Just now getting around to adding pictures from Christmas. I know it is a bit late...but "better late than never"....

I got a Bike!!! I was so excited!

Baylee loved her ear muffs from Daddy

Graison got an awesome beanie from Baylee

Max of course wanted to be right in the middle of it all!!!

Graison & Tate dug out a tunnel through the drifts and grandma & grandpa's house

Baylee & Uncle Booger

Dad did a good job surprising mom with a beautiful curio cabinet.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Idaho Falls. Was sad not having Kasey & Jennifer and their families with us, they were missed! Of course, my kids made out like bandits! Guess that's what grandparents are for!! I actually had to leave some things there because my truck was so packed full!! I promise Mom, I am coming to collect all my things!
